You will dig the Hypto Krypto for variety and The Ando when it pumps but Craig Anderson’s latest small wave signature model, the Haydenshapes Merlot, is meant to transcend you to a state of small wave performance bliss.
I first saw the tail and was intrigued. From the wide point forward, the outline curves back subtly and then more dramatically from a steep hip behind the front fins to the tight square (also available as a swallow) tail at the back. With very little rocker and fuller rails, this wide outlined vixen of a surfboard should chop your home break mush to pieces.
Undoubtedly designed with Craig Anderson’s smooth, effortless style in mind, the Haydenshapes Merlot promises a lively, enjoyable experience when the waves are smaller (Haydenshapes recommends 1-4ft ~knee high to just overhead).
