Haydenshapes Surfboards
With two of the world’s most progressive free surfers riding and providing feedback on his boards – Craig Anderson and Creed McTaggart – iconic founder/owner of Haydenshapes Surfboards, Hayden Cox, is free to focus on building performance craft for all around performance and everyday free surfing.
A cerebral gentleman when talking through the science behind his shapes, Hayden is able to strike a careful balance between science and art in surfboard design, trusting his instincts on key design decisions.
Importantly, Hayden does not follow the trends of the industry, he creates them. When the Hypto Krypto was released, the design was unique. As popularity has exploded for the model, other manufacturers have attempted to clone the design.
The user friendly Haydenshapes Cannon single fin - a modernised take on an old school single fin design - has allowed legions of surfers to feel that single fin feeling without departing completely from a more progressive, modern surfing style. And the cult classic Haydenshapes Psychedelic Germ still performs like nothing else in smaller surfer. Lest we forget the two über fun small wave models, the Haydenshapes Merlot (skatey punter) and Creed McTaggart's signature Haydenshapes Love Buzz, which is one of the most dynamic small wave performance hybrids on the market.
With two SIMA 'Surfboard of the Year' titles for the ubiquitous Haydenshapes Hypto Krypto model, Hayden has clearly established himself as a major player in the surfboard manufacturing industry.
