GuestHi Ben
First of all thank you for making the site and reviewing all the boards so far. I have learnt a lot about board design just from this site and look forward to each new review.
I have been surfing regularly now for about 6 months on the gold coast, I’m 28 and 145 pounds and used to surf in the UK every now and again so had the basics down. I’m currently riding a 6’8 funboard which is 20 1/2 by 20 /5/8 ( http://www.stuartsurf.com.au/boarddetails.php?id=28) . I’m now looking for something a bit faster/responsive and easier to duck dive. I still want something easy to paddle though as I only surf 1 or 2 times a week.
Which of the above do you think would be best and what size…..I was thinking the Lost V2 in 6,2?
Many thanks and keep up the great site

InactiveHi Sim,
Thanks for writing and for your kind feedback, much appreciated!
Three excellent options but I think you nailed it with the V2 Rocket. The original Rocket was a game changing board for me. It’s extremely versatile yet forgiving and user friendly. It works in just about anything and you won’t grow out of it. Given your experience and what you’re riding now, I would even consider a 6’4.
A word of advice, too. You may struggle as you drop down in size but stick with it. Surf one board as much as possible. Bouncing from board to board in the early days of your surfing journey can impede your progress.
If you get the V2 Rocket, please write back and let me know how you go.
Cheers,

GuestHi Ben
Thanks for your response.
In that case I might stick with my 6’8 fun board for as long a possible before buying a Lost V2, I would rather wait until I’m good enough to ride the 6,2 and have something that is easier to duck dive.
Might see if I can have go on one before buying one later down the line.
Cheers

GuestHi Benny
My surfing has been progressing nicely ( and my paddling most importantly ). I think I’m almost ready to pull the trigger on my first proper board. I have been thinking about a few other options. Do you still think the Lost v2 or do you think a Lost RV would be better?
I have also been looking and at the Hypto, firewire potatonator and firewire dominator.
There are too many choices!
Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.
Mainly surf 1-4ft point and beach breaks.
Many thanks

InactiveHi Sim,
My vote is the V2 or V3 Rocket! The Rocket is a well balanced all rounder that has paddle power and stability to help you now but won’t hold you back later as you improve!
I had the original Lost Rocket and it was a game changing board for me.
Does anyone else have good advice for Sim?
Cheers,
Benny
