Im going to college in Boca Raton, Florida (FAU) and need a good board for all of the conditions down there, one that can handle the knee to waist high waves and the shoulder high waves as well. I currently surf in Alabama on the Gulf Coast so i deal with extremely inconsistent and ugly waves. South florida isn’t as inconsistent and has a lot cleaner waves. Ill be surfing Deerfield beach, Del Ray Beach, West Palm Beach, and Reef Road consistently while I’m down there (August 2016- May 2017). Im 6’0, 145 lbs, and an intermediate surfer. I have a 5’10 retro fish twin fin as my main board right now along with an 8’0 fun board, but i want to elevate my surfing and start throwing some hacks and progressing towards aerials. My volume sweetspot is 28 liters. I don’t want a rockered out potato chip of a board because florida waves just don’t support that, need a flatter board thats forgiving, performance oriented, creates speed easily, and is fun. Ive been looking at the Rusty Sista Brotha, Rusty Pump, JS Monstabox, etc. Open to all board suggestions and All board suggestions will help.
