I’m looking to purchase my second board, I’m 5’8.5 and 142lbs (and in average shape (: ).
My current board is a custom 6’3×18.5×2.25 with volume of 29.7 (the guy I bought it from had it from 2006 and didn’t seem too sure about the volume).
I just recently got the hang of catching unbroken waves & trimming but I think the length of the board might be inhibiting me from advancing my skills, so I’m looking to cut a few inches in my next one.
Also, I’m aiming at a “Quiver Killer” (if ever there was such a thing) since I can only afford one board at the moment, so I’m looking at something that’ll work from 2 feet to head-high stuff (Hadn’t tried going overhead and frankly not looking to try anything similar anytime soon).
Any suggestions for boards that fit? I was thinking of going for a 6’0 V3 Rocket but the volume seems way too much in comparison to my current board, and so I thought of decreasing to 5’10 but the drop from 6’3 really scares me (and I have to admit I like seeing a bit of my board in-front of me when paddling for waves). If not I also pondered about getting a Firewire Hellfire or Lost Mini-Driver, either one at 6’0.
I love watching your reviews and would greatly appreciate your suggestions!
