I posted a similar question on the Youtube review of the Dire Wolf but not sure if it would get noticed there so apologies for the double up.
I currently have a 6’0 Fred Rubble but its a bit small for me and need the 6’1. I’d like to support Australian shapers so I am looking at the Dire Wolf from Stacey. I plan to use it in solid head high to double overhead reef break in WA’s North. It breaks top to bottom but only barrels occasionally on the right tide and wind etc. Nice long walls that wrap around a gap in the reef. Liam from Stacey said it should handle it and possibly a bit more but I am curious to know what you think? Also, would the Dire Wolf handle bigger waves than the Fred Rubble?
Cheers, Warren.
Forgot to mention I also have a V3 rocket and wondered if the Dire Wolf would compliment the V3 or could the V3 handle the bigger stuff? I am yet to try the V3 or FR in overhead waves so not really sure of their capabilities.
I too am looking at these boards (Dire Wolf and Fred Rubble) for surfing bali in the overhead to double overhead range. Interestingly, I’m also surfing a Lost V3 round-it as my daily driver. Great board but, in my opinion, once its gets to be 1.5 overhead its seems to be out of its range. The Dire wolf, the Rubble and I’ll throw in the Lost Round up are the boards I am most interested in.
What you say Benny??
Cheers,
Eric
