Learning how to surf? Give yourself every advantage and get the right surfboard to learn with. This is an ideal beginner’s / learner’s surfboard:
Your first surfboard should be long and wide for stability and thick for easy paddling. NOTE, do not get a ‘longboard’ (by definition, something over 9’1) or a shortboard for your first surfboard! Longboards come with their own set of challenges. Ideally, you want a ‘mini-mal’ (as pictured) between 7’0-8’0, depending on your size.
